Opening Weekend Report

A big THANK YOU to all who braved the weather this past Saturday and welcomed our vendors back for the start of the 2022 Farmers and Makers Market in Millbrook!  For those who were unable to attend we hope you’ll come by this week and say hello to our returning vendors and welcome our new vendors.

Some of this week’s highlights were the fresh brewed coffee from Reverie Brewing Co. paired with freshly baked goods from Brits Bread.  The awesome display of fresh herbs and heritage chicken eggs from Mama Wolfs Herbs.  Anna’s Cucinna is back with their focaccia bread and cannoli’s.  Breezy Hill Orchard is back after a number of years and they were full of all sorts of wonderful baked goods, fresh donuts and apples as well as their award-winning hard ciders.  Joe DelGuidice is always a farmer who brings the “unusual” and this year he is back with his mushroom logs and for the first time in a long time at the market Quail eggs.  And of course, a regular vendor who always provides not only a great product but a smile and welcoming word, Sarah’s Granola.

Some of the crafts and artisans we had this week are the Joseph family from Haus #25 with their body scrubs and beauty products.  Dirty Bird Birdbaths with her Rhubarb inspired and designed bird baths.  Barnacle and Blooms offered a variety of incredible art, using shells.  Anyone who still needed vegetable starts for the garden had plenty to choose from and many plants were seen leaving in the arms of shoppers.  And Love Light Threads will be here throughout the season offering some of the most beautiful tied dyed art you’ve ever seen.

A market regular who was noticeably absent and who I received a number of questions about was The Corgi Kitchen.  Jody had some infrastructure issues that prevented her from being able to bake.  She has assured me she will be back at the market on the 11th and will be at the market for the season.  So, fear not she will be back.

Thank you for your support and please stop by and say hi to me at the Co-Op Tent.  I can also be reached by email with any questions comments or concerns you might have.
